Loch Lomond

Loch Lomond

Impressionist Landscape

About this painting

Loch Lomond is has always been a favourite place of mine to visit, however I don’t think I’ve ever been there when it’s sunny, this particular day it was overcast and a storm was brewing, and the rain had started to fall maybe 1/2 mile away. But I have to say the Loch is always a beautiful place to visit. One day I’ll visit it in the sun and paint it.

Simonside

Simonside

Watercolour – Landscape

About this painting

The hills in the distance show Simonside in Northumberland. It is very popular with walkers and hikers alike. Here I have painted the scene 1 mile south of hills, that has the one lone fir tree on the beautiful heather dales that lead to Simonside.

About

Cove hopping in Pembrokeshire is a favourite pastime on mine when I’m in Pembroke that is. This Idyllic little cove is seriously easy to miss if you don’t know it’s there. It’s a fairly steep clamber down the path but to have te cove to ones self is just amazing. BTW Temby is in the distance.

Lone Birch

Lone Birch

Impressionist – Landscape

About this painting

This is not more than a 5-minute walk from my house, looking East from Waldridge Fell to Sunderland. And whilst there are many Silver birch trees on the fells, this one stands proud on its own, defiant of the fire that ravaged this fellside, not that long ago.

Robin Redbreast

Robin Redbreast

SOLD

About this painting

This little Robin Redbreast was a commission for a charity called “If you care share” a support group for people who are going through the loss of a person through suicide, and they wanted a painted that could be made into a Seasonal greetings card. There was a strict brief so I came up with this. A little obvious perhaps but the Robin (in the olden days) is a sign of hope and even today they bring a smile to one’s face.

Infinity Horizon

Infinity Horizon

About

I was on the Pembrokeshire coast, visiting Strumble Head when I looked out to sea. The view was captivating from the cliff tops and was and very hot summer day and all I could see was nothing. I was hoping to catch a glimpse of Ireland, but alas no. Then I noticed the weirdest of things, the waves moving in two slightly different directions. Were these the ocean
currents I was witnessing? there was not a cloud in the sky but with I being so very hot I want to get an Ice cream. It was the Ice cream that influenced the colours of the sky. and have always thought this would look lovely in an Ice cream parlour.

Morning Mumbles View

Morning Mumbles View

About

This was the first Painting I did when I came back from my Pembrokeshire tour. This the Mumbles looking out towards Cardiff. It was a seriously hot morning and was already 22 degrees celsius at 9.30 am. The mist was rising in the distance with the faint morning glow in the sky, It was so tranquil and I wanted to capture that in this painting.
