Heather Hills

Impressionist – Landscape
About this painting
Just five minutes fr my house is the picturesque view that is the Waldridge Fells. It’s one of the last Heathlands in the UK and thankfully protected. The sweet smell of heather is intoxicating, and the multitude of bill berries that grow there make the most scrumptious jams.

Lone Birch

Impressionist – Landscape
About this painting
This is not more than a 5-minute walk from my house, looking East from Waldridge Fell to Sunderland. And whilst there are many Silver birch trees on the fells, this one stands proud on its own, defiant of the fire that ravaged this fellside, not that long ago.

Robin Redbreast

SOLD
About this painting
This little Robin Redbreast was a commission for a charity called “If you care share” a support group for people who are going through the loss of a person through suicide, and they wanted a painted that could be made into a Seasonal greetings card. There was a strict brief so I came up with this. A little obvious perhaps but the Robin (in the olden days) is a sign of hope and even today they bring a smile to one’s face.

About
I was on the Pembrokeshire coast, visiting Strumble Head when I looked out to sea. The view was captivating from the cliff tops and was and very hot summer day and all I could see was nothing. I was hoping to catch a glimpse of Ireland, but alas no. Then I noticed the weirdest of things, the waves moving in two slightly different directions. Were these the ocean
currents I was witnessing? there was not a cloud in the sky but with I being so very hot I want to get an Ice cream. It was the Ice cream that influenced the colours of the sky. and have always thought this would look lovely in an Ice cream parlour.
